Radiology (X-ray)
Southwind Animal Hospital is proud to offer in-house digital radiography imaging. This technology provides accurate and quick results, enabling us to diagnose many diseases or traumas. It also allows us to obtain information about your pet in a shorter time and uses less radiation than traditional films. We use radiology alone or in conjunction with other diagnostic tools to help identify your pet’s illness or injury.
Ultrasound
Southwind Animal Hospital also has the capacity to perform ultrasonographic imaging to assist in collecting diagnostic information on our patients. An ultrasound is a non-invasive imaging technique that allows the ability to see internal structures in the body. It does this by recording echoes or reflections of high-frequency sound waves. Ultrasonography is a good method for evaluating fluid-filled structures, like the bladder, as well as the architecture of organs like the liver, spleen, kidneys, and heart.
